Chapter 5: The Lost One
Hermione, looking quite surprised and anxious, said, “Ron! Where is he? I never saw him in the car. I didn’t notice. He must be at the station! We’ve got to go back!”
But Mr. Weasley, looking at Hermione, replied, “No. He’s not a small child anymore. He can just Apparate here. You mustn't worry.”
Hermione, however, looked worried. Harry didn’t want to go looking for Ron. It wasn’t his fault that Ron had not been with them. Harry and Hermione instinctively got out of the car. To Harry’s surprise, however, Ginny and Mr. Weasley also got out.
Ignoring everyone else, Harry walked towards the door, turning around to see everyone following him. Mr. Weasley shrugged and said, “Well, since we drove here, we might as well see the Dursleys.”
Visions of exploding fireplaces and growing tongues were in Harry’s mind at the moment. As he rang the doorbell, the sound echoed throughout the house. He began to wonder if this was a trap. If someone was just trying to lure him to the house. Forgetting those thoughts, he heard footsteps approaching the door. After a few moments, the door swung open.
For a brief moment, Dudley started to smile when he saw Harry. However, Dudley looked positively grimace as he turned towards the others. Dudley asked, “What are they doing here?”
Harry, glaring at Dudley, replied, “They’ve come with me.”
Dudley stepped backward, apparently scared that Harry or the others might whip out their wands. Harry led the way into the house as Dudley stepped aside to allow them to pass.
When they entered the living room, someone appeared to be sitting on a revolving chair. However, Harry could only see the back of his head, for the chair was turned away from them. Harry, standing quite motionless, looked at the person, but before he could step forward, Uncle Vernon said, “Hey!”
The unknown person turned his head. Harry gasped. The person looked very familiar as he surveyed Harry with wild happiness, saying, “I knew you would come, brother!”
