Getting Married
Michael Biele and I now have a marriage license after 10 years of being together. Had lunch at a new restaurant, Bstard Restobar, on South Street in Glens Falls, New York that prides itself on a variety of cuisines around the world, from Korean, Chinese, Italian, American, and more. It is a lovely restaurant and Chef Shannon Hart-Hume and her husband have transformed the abandoned space in order to continue to revitalize the area. The food was divine, and the atmosphere was elegantly crafted. Excited to see how they develop in this year!
We purchased an incredibly beautiful notebook and pen from Amazon with 244 lined pages that will travel with us this year and beyond. It will be used for everyone that we visit to write whatever they desire, from marriage tips and guidance to stories and funny anecdotes.
Excited for our small, official ceremony on February 5th next month to legalize our marriage and begin the next chapter of our lives, as we make plans to visit the many people we care about and celebrate our love for us and them. My sister will be the officiant and truly honored to have her make the signature on the marriage license.
This is how we will endure the changing world in this new year; by keeping family, friends, and communities strong and full of love. Our families and friends may live far, but our marriage celebration will travel even farther this year and beyond.
Reaching 10 years of being a couple is special and glad that we pushed through anxieties (and a little ADHD) to make it official in our own way. And with the positive future of planning small, mindful trips and gatherings to celebrate; without a massive, bank-breaking wedding that relies on too much pressure for one day.
Happy to have Michael in my life and excited to call him my husband! 💕
