Chapter Eight
The magical creature was, in fact, an angel. Even though the creature was not dressed in robes or white jewels, Jack still seemed to gaze upon the angel with obedience. Angels, in this millennium, are creatures of law and order, much like a standard lawyer.
The creature said, “What is this fighting? I can assure all of you that this can be handled with a simple courtroom trial! Since, of course, I am an attorney, I will propose that I be helping these two humans in magical court,”
Michelle and Shannon did not believe what was happening at that very moment. An angel as an attorney was the last thing they could have thought of, but it was floating right in front of them. Since it was an angel, all of them disappeared and reappeared in the magical court in no time flat.
The magical courtroom seemed like any other ordinary courtroom in the United States. Nevertheless, something about it was different. Was it the gold platform for the defendant to speak on; then again, was it the massive pillars that were holding the courtroom up? Well, whatever the reason, Michelle and Shannon were still amazed by everything.
“What is this, Michelle?” asked Shannon, who seemed to be afraid of everything around her.
“I don’t know, but it must be the magical courtroom,” replied Michelle.
“Have you ever seen anything like this? I mean, everything is built with real gold!” said Shannon.
Then, as Michelle was about to reply to Shannon, the angel pushed them behind a table in what an attorney would call the defendant table. Then, the judge appeared at the high table in front of them.
He said, “Let’s start the case of the attack on the humans from the attacker: Jack the Loner. Jack, do you have a few words to begin the trial?”
“Yes, I do, Judge Renitent. First off, I would like to point out that these two humans have had two disregards to the third law of God! I can guarantee everyone here knows the third commandment, right?” said Jack, who seemed convinced he could win this case.
The entire audience spoke out in a muffled tone in agreement with Jack. Of course, the judge pounded his gavel on his desk to quiet the room. He then proceeded to say, “Okay, humans, do you have something else to say in your defense?”
“Yes we do your honor. I would like to say to everyone that he has not told us that we cannot bother him during prayer! Even if he says that it is the third commandment, are we supposed to know what he wants us to do without a single complaint by him!” said Michelle, with great enthusiasm.
Another murmur broke out in the audience as Michelle finished her testimony to the courtroom. Again, the judge banged his gavel onto his desk. He said, “Okay, we have a firm argument between each side, so now we will watch what really happened at each of their encounters.”
The lights dimmed, and a blank screen gently came down. Then, as the screen came to a halt, the first encounter of Jack could be viewed, which surprised Michelle very greatly. She knew someone was stalking them, but she did not know whom. Even now, she could not tell who secretly videotaped them. The film finished in around half an hour, which seemed long to someone in their own backyard.
“See, your honor! It was shown quite clearly that I did give them ample warning, so I should win this case!” yelled Jack, as the screen slowly went back up.
“I did hear him say it, so you humans should be dead right now!” said the judge.
“What! Why do we have to die?” exclaimed Shannon.
“Well, it says so in the Bible, and we all must obey the Bible!” replied the judge, with an evil smile.
“Um, Michelle, I think these people are possessed by the devil,” whispered Shannon.
Suddenly, two guards grabbed them from behind, which shocked them at first. However, in an instant, they shook themselves out of the guards grasp and ran towards the door. As soon as opened the door, they appeared in a strange space.
